Well, that's it then. The excitement is over. Malta did not qualify to the Eurovision finals ... boo!
To be honest, except for that little bit of patriotism I feel when Malta does well in the Eurovision song contest, I must confess I really do not understand what the big fuss is about: I really, really dislike the Eurovision. There, I said it. I am now proud of myself for having the courage to admit this publicly, at the risk of getting stoned to death by my fellow Maltese brothers and sisters who adore it.
To be honest, I think many of us secretly despise it, for various reasons. Behind closed doors, within a trustworthy circle where nobody can hear us, we tell how we believe that the whole competition is rigged; that it's all about trying to win favours with neighbouring countries; or that the music is simply not, erm, "real" music.
And now Malta has been eliminated too!
Whatever may be our secret reason to hate (ok, that's a strong word, erm... "strongly dislike") the Eurovision, here is a list of what I'd rather be doing than watch the Eurovision final this Saturday.
I'd rather...
Ok, I confess I have no desire to spend my Saturday evening engaged in points 8-12 on my list BUT... I prefer to do that than watch the Eurovision final. Period.
