"Do you believe in signs?" my friend asked me today.
I smiled, and replied, "I see them all the time."

People have written books, made movies, written songs, and even preached about "the signs" - those little messages that seem to come magically from our environment at just the right time to guide us - and still many think that they are some form of delusion; those who cannot hear the music think that those who dance are crazy.

So this calls for a change in attitude.
Why am I complaining of long dark nights, the wild of the elements, or the island's general entry to hibernation? "Good morning, Madam," said the old man, smiling, as he stood at the entrance of his house. It was one of those traditional entrances with two heavy wooden doors and a decorative brass knocker on each. Beyond it was the "antiporta," a more delicate door with large glass windows, lace curtains maintaining a smidgen of mystery about the interior of the house.
