"Do you believe in signs?" my friend asked me today.
I smiled, and replied, "I see them all the time."

People have written books, made movies, written songs, and even preached about "the signs" - those little messages that seem to come magically from our environment at just the right time to guide us - and still many think that they are some form of delusion; those who cannot hear the music think that those who dance are crazy.

I felt hurt. Everything she said and did simply reinforced the stories in my head - the ones that told me that my perception of our friendship was an illusion; I was sure it was irreparable.
Still, it was not long before we sat to face each other; there was an intention to reconnect ... and the only way was to communicate. We took turns to speak. |
