I had written about the many men of Mali, which observed my experience of being single while observing several men in my life who each seemed to fulfill a particular role, such that I did not miss the "one man who could fulfill them all." Now it's not about the men, it's about the people in my life, and women, in particular.
We can hug and cuddle and affectionately stroke another's hair. We can laugh and we can party. We can express our sadness or frustrations and be allowed to get angry. We can be transparent and authentic and help others become of aware of themselves, without judgement. And we always help each other return to a plane of gratitude, love and service.
And we remind each other to trust the perfection of the cosmic dance, the higher reason why we are here, the way to return to balance when we feel thrown over. With them, I feel nurture, support and love and I can nurture, support and love.
The women in my life are a reminder that the goddess resides in all of us, all her variegated energies and manifestations the very fabric of our human experience as we know it. When we surrender, let go and flow - move as she moves - she charges us as required to perform the needful in the name of Love.
The feminine potency is said to manifest as Life itself, while the masculine is Consciousness. They dance to many different types of songs, yet the Divine Couple - Reality the Beautiful - reside in the song of Love.
If, to meet the Divine, men meditate, women dance and sing wildly around a fire. I love these wild women, who are tamed only by Love itself. Because Love is divine power and also the only thing worth surrendering to.
